Little Ideas - Spring/Summer 2009
text | Danielle TeigenIf your photographer gives you a disc of your wedding images and the rights to publish them, consider making your own wedding album at an online site such as MyPublisher, Shutterfly, Inkubook, or Blurb.
Surprise your parents and new in-laws by having their wedding songs or first-dance songs played after your own. Announce the significance and invite your guests to join.
Instead of using a traditional guest book, buy a pretty planner or datebook and ask guests to sign on their birthdays.
Add a few sprigs of fresh mint to your floral centerpieces for an extra burst of color and intoxicating aroma.
Add a new twist to lighting the unity candle. Have small white candles at each place setting at the reception, and before you and your groom have your first dance, light your unity candle. Use the flame from your candle to ignite your guests’ candles, and enjoy your first dance as husband and wife illuminated by the light from your family and friends.
Have your guests release butterflies as a send-off for you and your groom. American Indian legend asserts that butterflies are messengers that will carry a wish to the skies.
